Francisco Perez Yoma

 

Francisco Pérez Yoma  is a Chilean engineer and businessman specializing in the real estate sector. He studied at Saint George’s College and the Universidad de Chile, where he graduated as a Civil Engineer.

In 1978, he founded Empresas FPY, one of the largest construction and real estate groups in Chile, primarily focused on the construction of social housing and middle- income sectors. Since its inception, the company has built over 145,000 homes.

He is also the founder and chairman of Inmobiliaria PY S.A., a subsidiary of Empresas FPY, which serves as a holding company for various entities dedicated to construction and real estate management. With more than 35 years of experience, he is a recognized leader in the Chilean real estate market. Today, his business maintains a strong presence in Chile’s most significant regions.

In 1987, he established Maquinaria PY S.A., a company that provides exceptional leasing service for construction machinery and equipment. This venture builds on over 25 years of experience accumulated by its partners and founders, who transformed FPY’s machinery department into an independent service provider for the construction industry. He is also a founding partner of Constructora Carrán S.A., which has built 100,000 homes across the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, eighth, and tenth regions of Chile.

In 1994, he pioneered the creation of “Zonas de Desarrollo Urbano Condicionado (ZODUC),” an urban planning instrument implemented in 1997. This initiative has facilitated the development of large neighborhoods featuring well-equipped houses, green spaces, shops, and essential services.

In 1995, Francisco Pérez Yoma acquired Pesquera Confish S.A., a fishmeal and fish oil manufacturing company based in Coronel, Bío Bío Region, Chile. In 2002, this company merged with Pesquera Itata S.A., forming Blumar S.A., now one of the leading fishing companies in the country.

In the agricultural sector, he has been the chairman of Agrícola Los Alfalfales since 1985, a company specializing in nut production. Additionally, he operates a livestock farming business abroad.

Francisco Pérez Yoma has also diversified his investments internationally, primarily in the United States. His portfolio includes the hotel industry, where he serves on the Board of Directors and the Investment Committee of Driftwood Development Partners and Driftwood Lending Partners (www.dadlp.com). He is also active in office real estate, residential real estate development, and livestock farming operations.
